My Story

UPDATE

I have completed my marathon row and live clips can be seen on my FB page.  A huge thank you to all the support you have given to myself and the Mintridge Foundation.

I am rowing a full MARATHON on the 29th March as the LLHM is postoned.

I am supporting the Mintridge Foundation as sport and health has played a big part in my life, even more so since having children. As my lad, Mont (7) was born with hearing issues.  This has had an impact on his speech and learning. He has also been diagnosed with dyslexia and other learning disabilities.  However he thrives at sport and outdoor activities, which we positively encourage.  Mont has been encouraged by fellow sportspeople we know to maintain his studies and keep trying new things.

The Mintridge Foundation is a registered charity that provides a support network for young people by harnessing the power of positive sporting role models.

The Mintridge Foundation runs a number of different programmes available to clubs, associations, schools, colleges and universities and we assist young people of all ages, abilities and physical capabilities to develop confidence and resilience while creating awareness of the importance of mental and physical wellbeing through sport.

Our team of Ambassadors – Olympians, Paralympians and other professional sports stars from over 20 sports, both team and individual – work with young people in schools, clubs and academies across the UK.

We work to achieve the following:

– Increase sports participation and change behaviour

– Nurture sporting talent

– Enhance life skills (including confidence and resilience)

– Increase awareness of the importance of mental and physical wellbeing
